I'm not trying to use my PCOS as an excuse, but PARTLY because of it, I have a hard time losing weight. Another reason that all I can do is blame myself is pure laziness. I start out w/ every intention of doing better, working harder, and losing weight, but after just a few weeks I hit a slump in which I completely give up. Then a few months, a year, whenever later, I attempt to start again. So here I am, in desperate hopes of losing weight, and hoping that this time around I can stay on track. Hopefully I can get some help and support here that will keep me going.

Hi Sara,
you'll definately find help and support here. Have a good read of the stickies and browse round the forums. Lots of good people giving good advice and quite a few success stories too!

Thank you very much, I appreciate the encouragement. The more and more I learn about PCOS, the more people I am finding with it. Any tips or ideas are appreciated, as well as kind words and support :)

Although my nutritional intake hasn't exactly been the best (though it's been much better and i've started taking a multi-vitamin), my exercise has increased. I've been doing what my personalized plan on here has suggested as well as doing Taebo w/ my roommate and using the ab lounger (she recently purchased at Wal-mart....not too incredibly expensive and well worth the price, though assembly is a bit confusing). According to the scale, I've already lost five lbs. Definitely having support helps, which thankfully i've found in my roommate. Unfortunately I don't have much of an opportunity to surf this site a whole lot but im sure theres a lot of great help here.

I am only 20 and have PCOS. Unless you have it, you have no idea how complicated it is. I don't eat any sweets and watch my sugar and carb levels really close. I found out about my PCOS 4 months ago and started being very careful w/ my eating as well as exercising 5 days a week. I run 2 miles every day at 5:00am than go to the gym for an hour in the afternoons. It has taken me 4 months to loose 15lbs. It's aggravating!
