If your body needs nourishment, then feed it. There is no magic 'witching hour' where all of a sudden your digestive system shuts down and everything goes to fat.
This method about not eating past 6 or 8 pm or whatever number was and is simply a means of self imposed calorie deprivation. Somehow it 'grew legs' and became conventional wisdom.
