Well i have been following the 12 week mass program and been having good results. My biggest problem right now seems to be on my shoulder day. When im done doing the dumbell presses, my military press suffers. I ahve been stuck on the same weight on the military press for almost 1 month (145lbs). I have tried military first and still doesnt help and just brings down my dumbell press weight. Yesterday, I did dumbell presses (heavy like always) and then did Machine presses(almost like the military press but its on the machine, cant remember the name). I was able to go heavier, as well as felt a much better burn. Will switching to this hurt my overall mass gaining? I just feel unconfortable on the military press.

I feel that the machines make lifting "easier" thus, greater weight. However, they do have their uses if you are looking to isolate a muscle group.

As for the question regarding the military press, the 12 week mass program is for people who are at a plateau I believe? As you don't have a profile I can't see where you are in that sense. So perhaps, your body isn't strong enough to do both those exercises at great weight on the same day?

depends on the machine...some press machine dont go vertical like a tress military press its more of like a high incline bench which incorporates the chest more hence more weight...

Have you tried doing a warmup set of rotator cuff exercises to loosen the shoulders up before ya lift alot of people have cuff problems without pain...you can grab a light plate like 10-20 lbs and hold your arm straight out and make a 90 degree bend at elbow and swing weight just moving arm via cuff keeping upper arm on the level swing weight from hip to above shoulder..wish i could find this on link but at work lots of stuff restricted lol

Yea this one is completely verticle no chest involved. I can do more weight on this, but i know its because of the machine. I continually push my self on it. Tried the warm ups it just seems uncomfortable to me on the militaries. If i keep pushing the weights, will i still see good gains?
