Since all the 'Ladies Only' section of gyms have opened I feel abandoned and am usually the only female in the co-ed section. I can't really use the ladies stuff because the machines are generally smaller and I'm 5'10 so I need the man-sized machines lol. The problem that I am having is the blatant stares from men. Yes I have breasts, big deal but REALLY guys!! Anything that I could say to these guys that are overly obvious that would embarrass the hell out of them? Have any of you ever been caught? The worst is that I am almost always working out with my husband, but it doesn't really make a difference to them.

my best advice is to just wear a sweatshirt or a loose tshirt....problem solved....
machines suck...start using freeweights barbells/DBS(not smith machine either)...... some guys are asswipes...they got no respect for themselves or others.....cant really help with that...no point in going out of your way and trying to embarass each and every one of these douchbags....just go through your workouts.... | |

just ignore them you are not there for them you are there for yourself keep on your workout. And take it as a compliment that those guys are looking and let your husband know " hey you got a hot wife and Im all yours."

well no offense, but if you wearing somthing thats putting them on show...they will look and look alot.
Tanktops and shorts with hottie are fine, but if guys check you out don't get pissy. So guys are meat heads but alot of it is brung on by women and what they wear... Cover up a lil more, under armor makes some nice shirts for girls that cover and keep you cool. Nike has some too. -------------- It's called a SQUAT rack for a reason..... I'd recommend an animal gear t-shirt. It says what you want to without you having to actually talk to anyone...

I was reading this thread and wondering why I don't have this problem. Then I reread your original post where you said you have breasts. Oh okay, so THAT's why!
We don't have a women's only section...only one weight room so I guess the guys are pretty used to having women around in varying degrees of coverage. I find the guys are friendly, polite and more interested in getting their workout done then paying undue heed to the women around them. |

Sorry but if you don't want the lookers, wear baggy workout clothes. This is not a secret answer that females don't already know. Are you going there for a fashion show or to work out? If it is the fashion show that is most likely why you get looks.
Personally when I am feeling sexy, I wear tighter fitting, cute, coordinated clothing and let them look all they want, that is what I am wearing it for "recognition". If I don't want to be bothered, I am in sweats and t-shirt. -------------- Bettia "Minds are like parachutes; they work best when open." - Lord Thomas Dewar |

Mutt, that is all I would let you see me in anyways, t-shirts and sweats. Only the worthy ones get the tight fitting clothing few which are very few and far between. :)-------------- Bettia "Minds are like parachutes; they work best when open." - Lord Thomas Dewar |

Best one I heard, I was working out with a buddy, and he was stairing in the mirror at this women's clevage, she caught him, and said "they're Nice eh!" wow, he turned red, and I laughed my ass off at him  |

It's in our genes. If i'm not consciously trying not to look, I look. It's like a reflex! Maybe it just me. Baggy sweatshirt would be the best bet, or try to ignore the guys.

I keep thinking of the scene in Christmas Vacation at the department store counter.
Clark: Tt wouldn't be the Christmas shopping season if the stores were any less hooter than they - HOTTER than they are. Whew. It is warm in here, isn't it? Mary: You have your coat on. Clark: Yes, oh do I? Yeah, it is a bit nipply out. I mean nippy. What am I saying, nipple? |

When I used to go to the gym, I would notice nice looking women before I started lifting. After I started, I didn't notice anything :)
Even now, I'll put on a CD at the house while I am lifting and then realize I didn't even hear a certain song! |

Know what you mean. I have 23 songs that I need to listen to today. I was doing it while working out and didn't hear 3 of them even though they were on right next to me.-------------- Dont tempt me; Im where I wanna be Cause on the eighth day, God made sweet tea. -Cravin Melon |

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. It did make me feel uncomfortable at first but now that my hubby and I are regulars at the gym its getting better. I catch myself doing it too sometimes - there are some beautiful women at my gym!! and bigandrew - my pics are one thing but i certainly don't wear jean shorts and heels to the gym. Maybe i will update the pics or something. Anyway, i find it often way too hot to put a tshirt on over my workout gear. So I'm just going with the flow, and concentrating more on completing my workout properly and reaching my personal goals. all the best to you all :)
