It seems alot of people have a tough time motivating themselves to live healthy lives. I know I do. The only motivation I have is this website and my own mindset. There's nobody "in person" that I know able to push me to the goal. If I slack, nobody really cares or notices, but me. In the Army, people are over you to push you to the limit... Where do you stand and what is your drive?

my drive is my inner self and the goal reached at the end. I have supporters in my life, here, a couple in person, but I drive myself for the goal I have set for myself and intend on reaching.

My drive is inner self as well. I find motivation in many places; being a good role model for my kids, the desire to be healthy and fit and the desire to look healthy and fit. Sometimes my motivation is as simple as wanting to get outside on a beautiful day, so I go for a run or bike ride, other times is the desire to leave work over the lunch hour to destress and listen to music, so I go to the gym. I rarely think of working out as a choir, usually it's a positive for me and I get rather depressed if I get sidelined due to work/home obligations or injury!

My drive are my kids especially my son who will be 3 in May. I want to ensure I am in the best possible condition when he is old enough to play sports so I am able to be right there with him.
I find my daily motivation by simple things...Somedays it is certain clothes that used to be baggy on me but fit snuggly now. others it's out lifting my brother-in-law who outweighs me by 50 pounds :)

Mine are my kids also, but lately I have found Everyone around me looks up to my lifestyle change...all of a sudden I am a fitness guru lol (far from it) but i have helped inspire some nice changes in people and most of all the push i get is from myself everytime my max goes up or my mins on elliptical go further or longer i get pumped...then again I often video myself so I can look back on where i Have come from and keep it in my journals

Jay, I know what you mean. The same brother-in-law that I mentioned outlifting is the same guy who was arguing everything I was doing when I 1st started lifting. After he started seeing the changes, he quit arguing with me and asked to join me :) That was pretty motivating right there!!! Recently my motivation has been that we are going back home in less than 2 weeks. i haven't been home in 3 years so the changes I have made will be huge for my friends and family. What they don't realize is that I've made these changes in 10 weeks!!

My drive is personal. However, I find that if set short-term goals, I achieve them faster and they can be motivating in themselves. Once you see the gains over time.
Often, I will pick someone who is a little bit better than me and will mentally "compete" with them. Then I move on to someone more challenging.
