i am 5"7 , just turned 15 years old , 139 pounds and currently my one rep max is 175 pounds. 3 weeks before I hit this mike stone I benched 135 pounds and I was embarrassed. But then I started working it with my brother and he showed me the right form as he has gone from 170 pounds as a junior to 275 pounds In under 3 months , no he did not take steroids, or is very possible but make sure you do the workouts correctly and get down the proper form. I was doing my form very poorly and when I started doing more reps with less reps I saw a hudge increase in my muscle mass , proper form is everything , more reps , less weight , usually do 5 by 12 or 5 by 15 depending on the workout , but if you weight the weight you do and bench under your body weight , thats is quite poor and show no dedication, if you want good results you must work hard like everything else in life , nothing is handed , work on proper form and make sure you have someone with you that knows what there doing , maybe your coach for instincts , but don't rely on them , some coaches are just fat bastards who just have a job and have no idea wha there doing anyways , I say ask a family member to help you or better yet get a personal trainer , im lucky my brother is a upcoming trainer , but for you , get someone who knows what there doing , get proper form down , and workout everyday at the gym , push-ups don't help that much really , maybe to warm up or cool down but if that is your main course your looking for to improve your max , it's not gonna help much , eat protein everyday and take muscle powder if you want to gain weight and muscle faster , it's hard to get stronger if you don't have the dedication and faith that you will achieve a goal that seems impossible, it's called hard work , hopefully you will see this and I wish you the best of luck sir

loganrd69 --- 14 years old, 5'8, I bench 110 8 times and 1RM is 135. Pushups are a terrible way tl build strength. What you need is to find what you can do 6 times and do it until you can do it 8 easily. Then you go up 5ish lbs to what you can do 6 times. Going every other day a 5 lb incease will happen about every 3 times. |

LexmaRq --- Im 14, 5'5", i weigh 120 and i have a max of 135. If you really want to improve your bench, focus on triceps. Get a curl bar, put 10-15 pounds on each side, keep you elbows as straight as possible and touch the bar to your forehead and explode out but dont fully extend your arms. This really helped me, ive been working out for 3 weeks and already increased 35 pounds on bench. I also recommend you do powerclean aswell. And on bench, do low weight high reps one day 3 sets. And the next do high weight 5 reps 5 sets. Good luck |

loganrd69 --- I’m 14 in 8th grade and am 6ft-6ft1 and weigh about 155-160. I’ve done benching, but only on weekends when I can have a driver. Keep doing push-ups if your like me and can’t get to a bench. I can bench 200 and I do 500-600 push-ups on heavy days and 200-300 on light ones. On light days, I do heavy legs and abs and will do 100-150 sit-ups and squats. On heavy push-up days I’ll do about 40-70 squats and sit-ups because you want to be well rounded. Right now I can also lift over 500 on the leg extend and squat machines. Do what you doing, but add stuff to it and increase the reps. |

WeebwithMusclesJman12345loganrd69 --- I have turned 15 4 months ago, and I was at your spot... (except fat) I worked as hard as I needed to breath, strict diets, crazy routines, and artificial motivation. You will eventually hate it, all I have to say is "NEVER stop working to improve" I have recently been able to bench 300lbs, and I still won't give up. It gets hard, and you will want to stop... just remember that this all depends on you. |
