I'm purchasing the following tomorrow: Marcy Power 10 Rack Weight Bench.

http://www.ccsports-online.co.uk/marcy-power-10-rack-weight-bench.-p-1545.html

Now I am unsure as to what weights I should purchase and where from. I assume olympic weights w/ BB&DB's?

This may sound like a very stupid question for some, but I have no knowledge whatsoever of what weights/bars are better than others.

Appreciated

My answer would be whatever you can afford and have room for. I'd love an Oly bar and plates, but no room for them, nor can I afford them.

Check out a second hand shop. There is always weights in there for sale, especailly following New Years. ha.

Also, I suggest getting metal plates instead of the cement filled vinyl ones.

get olympic weights, and maybe research a power rack not a rack stand/.....i.e. also called a cage one on a US site for 349 american however its a good starting point reguardless, however I have found I am limited by not have a cage, i have almost the same set up minus the lat attachment

I cant find any stores near where I live unfortunately which will mean paying full price...grr.

Jay, I can squat out of this one as I am also short of room. Cross trainer in their too. Man, never figured buying a home gym setup would be so difficult.

I'm installing my gym upstairs but now I'm worried about the pressure on the floor.

The gym weighs 71kg and I have a 150kg weight stack. Plus my weight of 85kg.

Thats a total 306kg and a crosstrainer @ approx 70kg.

Is that too much for an upstairs room? This is the only free room.

It all arrives Monday so any information would be appreciated.

Just a heads up...

I looked at many sites and found what appears to be a great deal.

255 lbs. metal plates (EZ grip)..
45 lbs. Olympic bar..
spring collars..

All together... 180 bucks over at Amazon.com
