been out of the gym for a "long time" and have just returned and have been training for a month. The principle of training hasnt changed since i last trained but the nutrition/diet side of things has left me a little confused. My intention is to lose fat and gain muscle - so here is a typical days diet... 7am bannana/oatmeal/skimmed milk/water and 3 egg whites post training - tuna with brown rice midday - scrambled eggs (3 whites 2 yolks) 3pm tuna/salmon light salad 7pm turkey or chicken I drink mineral water throughout the day and take no supplements except a multi vitamin/mineral. The whole protein/carb ratio thing seems to have changed since i last trained - is this diet on the right tracks? thanks in advance.......

Hi
sounds like 5 great meals, be careful though not to use a lot of butter of oil when scramblling those eggs, I can't see myself eating that every day, I always stick to boiled egg whites Also, you have not mentioned any Meal replacements or shakes, these supplements are NOT vital to your diet but could be helpful nevertheless, try whey protien if you get interested sometime.

Where are you getting your carbs from besides morning oatmeal?

If you have fatty tissue to shed the carbs should be at 1/2 the protien. If not go with 75-90%. Remeber no white carbs. Only the complex will do you good.
