I'm looking at a "fat burning" diet in the April 2007 issue of "Muscle and Fitness" and it recommends mostly Whey Protein. However, on non-weight workout days, it says to consume 20g of casein protein around 10 p.m. What would the reason for this be? Should I be using both whey and casein? Does casein do much that whey will not?
Thanks!

Casein absorbs allot slower so you stay fuller longer.
I like to use a 50/50 mix of the 2 even as a PWO but I also like at night, mornings and non workout days at times a Milk Protein Isolate which is 80% Casein and 20% Whey.
They both have GREAT benefits with Casein being the better of the 2 IMO but to have Whey in the mix is a must to because of the fastness of it in a PWO.
I get my stuff from True Protein and a PWO for me is 2 scoops that equals 52 of Protein 26 grams Whey 26 grams Casein.

Yep, casein gels in the stomach upon digestion. This insures a slow steady release of amino acids.

I'm about to hit cardio again after months of gain work and I really think this 50/50 will be great to sip while and drink after the session.
Only going for 2 days a week and not hard core like I did in the past but a job and a bike session sure can't hurt.
