Hi there. New to the group. But have been athletic for years. Got seriously ill and been on the long road back to the fit and healthy body I once had.
BASICS: 5'4", female. 212#, of which 150 is lean muscle mass. BF% is 28.
WORK OUT SCHEDULE: 3x-5x a week of cardio, 1.5 hours a session. First thing in the AM. Moderate to high intensity, using intervals. 3x week strength training - splits.
NUTRITION: Small meals throughout day. Between 1800-2100 calories when strenuously training, otherwise between 1600-1800.
What am I doing wrong? Or is my body just getting more resistant to losing weight? If so what's next? I switch up routines every 6-10 weeks. Any advice would be appreciated...

Why6 do you think something is not working? How long have you been in to this routine? Please fill out your profile and welcome to Freetrainers.

How long have you been at it and what sort of progress have you made?

Hi there - stupid question. How do I fill out a profile? I've answered all the personal info etc. I'd be happy to fill it in to facilitate anyone's ability to advise me.
I've been doing this specific routine since the new year. Previously I was mainly weight training and doing cardio after my weight work outs. In all honestly, I have been striving to regain my pre-illness shape for the past 6 years. Granted that's been on and off. The most focused attempts have been in the past two years.
Since the New Year I've lost 7% BF, but no pounds. I understand how muscle is more dense than fat... I am happy with the progess so far.
Do you have any plateau busters you'd recommend? I am not interested in more muscle mass as it's impressive as it is. I want to reveal it now...
Thanks again and I apologize if it seems I am whining. That's not my intent. It's just that my motivation wanes when progress isn't apparent... and lord knows I need to stay motivated :)
Thank you again! Carolyn aka stokies

dude; dont be to hard on yourself. If you lost 7% bf, that is an outstanding accomplishment. Remember that new yrs was only 6 wks ago. Hang in there you will get it- its just a very slow thing.
