Hi everyone,
I've just started the ft home program, I'm really learning alot about fitness and nutrition so far, but my problem seems to be that I'm having a really hard time getting through some of the exercises. Most of them I can do atleast one full set, but some I can't even complete 15 reps. I find this really discouraging. I know this is going to be a hard road as I've never really done any type of training in the past.I really want to do this, and I keep telling myself that others have had the same troubles too, i guess I just need some advise and encouraging.

Welcome to FT. If you can not complete the required reps than lower the weight a little. Also there is nothing that says you need to do 15 reps per set. Take things slow and you will see progress. If you try and rush things you may lose some motivation or get hurt. You have to look at this as a lifelong process. If you stick with it you will achieve your goals. You had to learn to crawl before you could walk. Good Luck !!

Thanks KA,
I did find when I worked out this morning I really tried to push myself to do at least one more rep of the exercises I couldn't do yesterday, I was able to!!! You're right about crawling before walking Thanks again for the input.

KA is definately right. This is a long process. Stick with it, it pays off in the end.

bjt, you have to take small steps. Don't think about your ultimate goal. Make many snaller ones and as soon as you reach one start aiming for the next!!

Yipee, hiphip horay!!! I weighed myself for the first time since I started this plan (3wks ago) and I've lost 7lbs. I'm really happy!! I am shocked and I really feel the change in my diet has helped tremendously. I know that I'm still not up to par with my exercise program, but it does keep getting easier each time, plus I'm still recovering from working a 76 hr week last week. I'm so glad I found this site, eating well and learning about nutrition and exercise has completely changed the way I look at things. Thank you for such a great place!!
