Hello All! I'm Steve Blake, 46 years old, from Penscola Fl. I'm new to ft and have just started. I'm in the Air Force as a Security Forces K-9 Explosive Dog Handler and stationed at Kirtland AFB Albuquerque NM. I'm currently deployed to Kuwait City International Airport. We here are forced on the Subway Jarrett Diet. We get one free meal a day at either Subway or Pizza Inn. So I choose to eat Subway. What I've been doing is getting the footlong roasted chicken sandwich and eating have for lunch and the other have for dinner. For breakfast I have either tunafish or a healthy cereal. When I first deployed I weighed around 190...I'm now down to 176. Up until now i've done nothing but cardio (bike, or eliptical) but a friend who is a ft member told me about this site so I signed up. I started my program this week and so far so good. I have also started the 12 week ab workout. Abs are my problem area like most people. I'm a beer drinker and brew my own and as most people know, the home brew are usually very high in calories and carbs. But since I've been deployed and not able to drink, I've been able to take the weight off. I'm looking forward to the new me.

Sincerely,

Steve Blake,

My Catahoula did it.

I saw a book titled "Sex for Dummies" and wondered why
anyone would teach dumb people how to reproduce?

You are doing the deployment diet which is very helpful to get started. The key to success is to sustain those gains once you get back home, the temptation there is to make up for lost time and eat everything you missed.

I have always wondered why the military stresses fitness and yet all their money-making schemes for morale, welfare, and recreation revolve aroung fast food and alcohol.

Anyway, congrats on the success. And thanks for doing something I have yet been able to do...maybe next year!
