I have this problem with not eating dinner until 8pm or later. I go to bed between 10pm and 12am. Wake up 5am to 7am. I exercise at night usually around 9pm.

What are some ideas for meals that late? (I'm usually on the road and don't want fast food at that time.)

I'm a horrible nutrition/diet watcher, but I know the late meals are killing me.

Oops! I think I found what I needed in the posting of Digestion Times.

Thanks!

More of it depends what you're eating during the day and your caloric needs. But yes, there are better and worse decisions you can make when it comes to night eating.

I haven't ever done the calorie count, any diet monitoring or dieting for that matter before. This is all new to me. I'm gonna give it a try though.

Thanks all for post on nutrition that can be understood and used!

Mel, check out a website like fitday.com. You can simply enter in the foods you've eatten and it will calculate it for you. I do it once a day over lunch (tracking the food from the day before) just to make sure I'm staying on track. You have to be careful tht you are truly logging everything you eat to get an accurate count.
Another thought would be that you really should be trying to eat something every couple of hours if possible. Take a large lunch box or cooler with you on your travels and pack yourself the healthy options for food. A tuna sandwich, some fresh fruit and veggies, etc. Get creative. I personally pack a fruit and yogurt smoothie with protien for one meal on the go, some lean turkey and a few slices of low fat cheese for another, etc.
Good luck!

Thanks!! I'll check it out. I do try to take healthy snacks with me. Sometimes I'm getting things together late and it gets passed over though. My bad I know.

I work in service and repair so I need to find things that can be eaten on the jobsite where we generally "tailgate" it. I also get bored with food easily. I'll skip eating and have water just because food items don't sound good. Like I said I am a horrible nutrition/diet person. Give me fresh fruit and fresh veggies and I'm good. Throw a bit of salty roasted sunflower seeds and I'm even better! lol

Sandwiches are easy. Tuna is pretty easy. Like you said chopped up veggies are easy. Peanuts, walnuts, almonds are easy. PBJ, fruit, protein shakes, protein bars, granola bars... on and on. You can keep variety going, it is more about thinking about it before hand rather than as you do it.
