Since I can't really afford to throw $50 towards protein shakes, I'm looking for high protein, low carb, low fat foods that I can eat.

So far I've been cooking chicken breast, tuna/salmon, milk and cottage cheese to get protein.

What other foods do you guys suggest I take for high protein?

Let's not forget turkey...I believe it is even leaner than chicken.

And buffalo: more protein, and less fat and cholesterol than chicken or turkey!

I have always wanted to try buffalo, what taste would you compare it to?

If you like more variety, you can add lentils, black beans, kidney beans, lima beans. These will also count for your carbs also (good carbs) around 40grams per cup. And if you are interested in the grams of protien you are looking at 14-18 grams per cup. So a bean salad here is the way to go.

Go get yourself a deer. Get it butchered. Make lots of sausages and hamburgers out of it. You'll have enough meat to last you a month and will cost you a fraction of what it would cost to buy all that meat at a store. Taste mighty good too, better than beer! I love it!
