First of all, I am a newbie to ft and I would appreciate all the help I can get from all of you. My question is am I missing alot of nutrition from eating healthy choice portion meals rather than eating fresh meat and veggies? I am always on the go and seem to never take time to enjoy a well cooked meal.

The thing about the healthy choice type meals is that they are typically higher in carbs, lower in protien and off the charts high in sodium. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are losing out on nutrition if you eat these from time to time, but be sure that you are eating enough other meals to balance out. Track your food intake somewhere like fitday.com (totally free). It will tell you how many carbs, protien, sodium, calories, fat, etc you have taken in so that you can make sure to balance out your intake for the day.
Try to spend a couple hours on the weekend cooking meals for the week. Do it with your family and make it a fun event. Make caseroles, chicken breasts in marinade, foods to throw in the crock pot as you run out the door for work, etc. There are a ton of recipes in the nutrition forum. The time consuming part of cooking is the prep work, not the cooking itself. The trick here is doing prep work when you have time so that when you are in a rush you can just grab and go. I make prepackaged tuna, cottage cheese, turkey, etc. over the weekend so that I can grab an individual serving and go during the week when all is hectic.
Hang in there and just do the best you can. It's not a sprint, it's a marathon and you will pick up shortcuts along the way to make it easier. Trust me, I know EXACTLY where you are coming from! :)

Prepackaging meals is a great idea. Thank you! This could be my turning point having good advice like this.

No problem jackson. Keep coming back here. I couldn't have come as far as I have without the help on the people on these boards. Just remember that everyone is individual and you need to do what works for you. Baby steps. ;)

The turning point you mention has been inside you all this time jackson, soul search real deep, you can feel it, that feeling of being a different person, happy, smiling, confident, proud to be who you are, the same power that makes you scream out from inside " I HAVE THE POWER " like he-man, well sort of, but anyways, if you want it bad enough, open your heart, your mind to changing your lifestyle and you'll be amazed how quickly the body follows..... good luck bro :dumbbell::dumbbell::dumbbell:
