I'm curious, does creatine give gains while just on it, or do u actually keep the gains if you get off of it for a year or so? From what i've seen and heard, people keep saying they just give you a pumped look, muscle volume, and your muscles have more capacity to hold more water thus being able to lift more. So if you're off of it, won't the water capacity reduce to its normal capacity, and does that mean you don't keep 100% of your gains off of creatine? How much do you actually keep after a year off of it or so? Thanks

The effects are gone after a year. Creatine is much more than just a substance that draws water into muscle cells. It plays an intricate role in energy production (ATP-PC: adenosine triphosphate - phosphocreatine). Do a search for the ATP-PC system for all the details.

Anything other than the ATP (I 4 got to include that), is there anything else significant about it? Or is that the main purpose we use it? So exactly how much of the gains do we keep, i knw when i've used it my overall strength increased, but when i got off of it about a month later, i kept only a small amount compared to when i was on it, is that normal?

creatine helps with recovery as well. after cycling off a big part of the strength gains will disappear. how much depends on u.
try beta-alanine /// it's the new creatine supposedly in clinical trials

There is no magic in creatine. It something your body produces daily by combining 3 amino acids. Plays no part with hormones, so you have to understand that no 'big' muscle will be built. Will aid with explosiveness, etc. This goes back to Jbennets post, ATP.

I use it solely for the recovery it aids me and I only use it on lifting days.
For me it plays a major role in my recovery as for without it after a day of deadlifts I'm screw and for a few more days after that but when I use it I keep more limber and allot less sore!
I was trying all kinds of methods for recovery on leg days like a bath tube full of ice to Epsom Salt baths and none does for me what creatine does.
CCE is what I use!

I went and tried to buy some today. But because im only 16 they wouldnt sell it to me. But he recommended Nitric Oxide Maximizer. He said it does basically the same thing that creatine does but its not as hard on your liver as creatine is.

I would try another store. In my humble opionion, NO is just "Snake Oil" whose only benefit is the placebo effect.
