I was surfing through other discussions and I am confused a bit. I was reading that to loose fat one should calculate 8-10 calories per pound to get an estimate of how many calories should be consumed in one day. Is this calories or calories from fat? Reading the nutritional labels can be so confusing sometimes.

Calories from fat should not be more than 30% of the total calories.
The calories you are asking about is total calories, and I would say that is low. Go with 10-15 per pound, track what you are doing and make adjustments as you see fit.
Hope this help.

Thank you. I don't understand though exactly what "calories from fat," means. I wish there was a lingo book on how to read a nutritional label
