i have never heard of any compitions...so would i have to go out of town kinda thing?

First where are you from? Then check with the local gyms, health food stores, and any where else that makes sense.
I live in Utah and there are compitions here all the time, so unless your from some place more remote than that, you should have no prob finding one.
