LOL Hurts doesn't it! It gets worse before it gets better. Tomorrow's gonna suck the day after is gonna suck... but it will get better almost to the point where you'll look foward to the pain. Stick with it!!! you'll be there before you know it!

yea, i kinda figured it would get worse first. damn this sucks! to top it off, i woke up this morning with a nasty cough/cold thing going on, it looks like there is a terrible thunderstorm brewing, and I was going to go running 2day. (no treadmill or anything, for that matter). i guess ill go 2nite instead. hopefully ill still have the energy by then!

lol.. Yes you will hurt for the first week but, if you stay consistant with your workout then the pain will ease and eventually go away, just like Olibobwa said. Your doing a GOOD JOB!!! Keep up the HARD work and it will pay off.

My first week my hubby and I hurt so bad we couldn't even get our hands up to feed ourselves!! I think that was a good thing, the only food we got was what the other one could stuff in the mouth hahaha. Since then though it is just a good pain that lets you know you are working out hard.
Good luck and know that it will pass. Debbie -------------- Success is not for the chosen few but rather for the few who choose it. |

See, my husband is one of the "blessed." He can eat and eat anything he wants, sit around all day if he chooses, and never gain a pound. He works out for a week, and his muscles are noticeably bigger. It makes me so mad!!! Oh well, I may be on my own with this at home, but that's why I'm posting!:laugh:

Oh my gosh. Me too. I started yesterday and today I woke up... didn't even move and I thought to myself... this is going to be one painful day. You see, I stand up all day long, I'm a hairdresser. It hurts to bend, it even hurts when I go to sit down! But that's how I know it's working! haha...yea, I keep telling my hubby that it will catch up to him, but he just giggles. Yea, and I'll be the one laughing in 10 years when I still look young and gorgeous, and he looks old and fat!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Yeah, it still hurts today. So bad it's still hard to pick up my daughter, and she only weighs 22 pounds. Oh well, I'll try my workout here in a bit anyway, and we'll see how it goes. I will say, tho, that every time i feel the pain, (after the initial "ow") i know that that means i got a damn good workout, and im happy about that. no quitting here. my first workout actually cemented the fact that im doing this...i found out just how out of shape i am, so now im even more determined to do this thing!! woohoo!! |

Many decades ago, when I was young, I was lean and mean and ate everything! I worked hard and played harder, was strong and invincable. I turned around recently and said to myself where did it go? I'm 275lbs, sore, and no stamina. Time to hit the gym! The pain is great isn't it? Makes you realize you are alive! This is what your hubby may be in store for when the years catch up. Good luck to you both, keep up the good work -------------- that others may live, arrrrff |

Everything you described... I don't know what I'd do if I woke up and some part of me didn't hurt. I deloaded once, but I didn't like getting out of bed in under 10 minutes.

Hanson is a completely different band. They've never stopped making music, they have their own record company, and they're all married with kids. Give'em a break. They're not kids anymore. And for me, it's normal.
As far as the workout goes... it's tough when you're just starting. I worked hard that first day. It carried on all week. With my work, it made it tough, and it's taken a while to heal, but all pain aside... I haven't missed a day! -------------- By believeing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it. The non-existent is whatever we have not sufficiently desired. |

Oh I had fun alright. However, my feet are blistered. Oklahoma sun is pretty hot in October this year! And Tulsa roads aren't the best!
Ok.. lowdown. If you care. Hanson visited Africa and started making their album there. They recored a couple of songs with an African school choir. While being there, they wanted to be a part of something bigger... the place is impoverished, and they saw that AIDS was a huge epidemic. The album's called "The Walk". Before every show, the band walks a mile barefoot in whatever city they're playing in. The tour is partnered up with TOM'S shoes which when you by a pair of shoes, a pair is matched in your honor to a less fortunate child in Africa. The 1 mile walk is symbolic of walking a mile in someone else's shoes... their bare feet. So, that's the purpose of the walk. ;) -------------- By believeing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it. The non-existent is whatever we have not sufficiently desired. |

Yeah, it was one of the best days ever. Their first single "Great Divide" was written with the choir. When you buy it on iTunes, all the proceeds go to a hospital in South Africa towards AIDS research and care.
