I have a friend that gives me smoked salmon and was just wondering if it has the same good nutriants as a salmon steak we would cook on the BBQ? or does it loose those nutriants when it is smoked? Anyone?

Few things in this life are as glorious as salmon!
I doubt it loses anything more than grilling when smoked, but some expert might prove me wrong.
I prefer mine baked quickly with some extra virgin olive oil and a ton of lemon juice, or in an omlelette.

I love it too and will eat it cooked almost any way. I probably get smoked salmon once a week from this guy, just want to make sure it is ok in the diet.

No differnt than baked or grilled! Eat up.. now when you get into grav lax thats a TOTALLY different story!

I had no idea what gravlax was, just looked it up, seems extremely tastey, but probably very, very high in salt!

actually its not too bad. It is NOT for those watching their sodium, but is fine a few times a month for those who are not.
