Is it enough to switch from regular coke to diet coke. I know it would probably be best to cut it out all together but the only time I can drink water is when I'm actually working out. The rest of the time I like my Diet Coke. Can this keep me from getting the abs I want?
That would be a good first start, then if you can pretty much slowly elimate the diet also.
What will help you get the abs you want is less caloric intake. A caloric deficit. By changing soda this is a big step, but more will need to be done to get abs.
