Hi everyone! My name is Candice, I'm still in high school. I want to lose weight because I want to not just look good, but feel good. I lost my grandfather 3 months ago to emphyzema (spelling?) and it was the first time I'd ever experienced death or anything like that, and I do not believe it was his time to go and he is missing out on a lot of amazing things here. So, I'm going to take a tip from him and be healthy. I want to be around for awhile and not have to say goodbye to my family and people who love me early; that's the most important thing to me more than anything else.
I have about 25 lbs. to lose, unfortunately I let myself go too far and I think I'm too young to be overweight so I might as well fix it now before it gets worse because it most likely will haha. Most of it is around my waist and my stomache, which is weird because women usually gain around their legs and thighs but my legs are pretty small compared to my waistline.
My biggest problem is committment. I have started 68587561564 diets, and stuck with none but glutton. I need someone to be there to push me and keep me motivated and FORCE me to stick-wid-it! So that's what I think I need the most support-wise.
I'm going back to Greece this summer, so I want to look good in my bikini' you know flat abs and all :D I know it'll be hard work but I'm going to try my hardest this time, because I can't take it anymore and I REALLY REALLY WANT IT.
Wish me Luck!

Well, make diet 68587561565 the last one and drop the term 'diet' and make a lifestyle change.
What you eat is the biggest key. Check out the diet forum and get the grocery list and go from there.
Also, set up a workout plan from this site and get at 'er.
Welcome to FT!

Hi Candice, wecome to FT! We all can offer you advice and support, but ultimately you're the only one on this site who can FORCE yourself to stick-wid-it. TimDay told you about the grocery list in the diet forum. I printed it a month ago, and I shop from it exclusively (er, well, almost. Pretzels, I have a thing for pretzels.) Anyway, clean eating has made all the difference for me. It's not about cutting calories, and actually after a couple of weeks of eating correctly, you don't really even have to worry about eating more than you should, b/c you're body is back on track. I eat three solid meals a day with small snacks in between. You can search for "clean eating" and get lots of old discussions about it. Anyway, I don't work out right now. I haven't since July, when I injured my back. All I do is eat the right foods and eat when I'm hungry. Crazy, I know, but I lost 10 lbs this past month doing nothing else. My point here is that once you start eating correctly, everything else gets easier.
Don't think of the word diet. Don't even let it enter your brain, b/c "diet" is linked to eating far fewer calories than anyone could possibly survive on. You don't have to eat less to lose weight, you just have to eat different. And if you throw exercise on top of it, you will experience a life transformation that will leave you in awe of yourself. Good luck. Post when you're struggling (or being tempted by the bag of pretzels at 10pm)
