I was just in GNC and the manager showed me some whey protein that he was selling for 10% of the original price. The expiration date was the end of this month, but he told me it should be good for another year. So, I bought $150. worth of protein for $15. Is what he told me factual or bunk? I know vitamins start to lose potency past their expiration date but are still effective. Is this the truth with whey protein?
The expiration date is usually simply the last date the store can sell it by. It by no means means the product is bad, though I would 'check it out' and make sure I get a written return policy if it is bad.
