Does going into the sauna and sweating a lot do anything for you besides relaxing your muscles? Specifically like helping you burn calories or fat?

You will lose weight, but it is all water. I suppose it might raise your body temp a little, which might burn some calories, but it is negligible.

Why not just do it because it feels great after a hard workout in the winter? Also helps if you're strating to feel as if the sniffles are coming. My gym has a small sauna, and I use it to stretch (i'm on my own), relax, get warm, and clear up a runny nose.

muscle is like 60-70% water...
fat is like 5-10% water.....
