Hello,
I'm like the majority of other people here in that I'm new to the community and eager to start improving my health.
I have the opportunity to take a 2 month sabbatical from work and dedicate myself to a fitness regimen.
I haven't worked out since high school and I'm 28 now. Been caught up in the corporate grind for too long.
Does anyone think it's a good idea to take some time off work to develop the fitness habits I need to be healthy for the rest of my life?
I also only have access to free weights and areas to walk/run. Is this a problem? Taking a break from work means I won't be able to afford the gym and trainer.
I have almost completed 1 full year of working out regularly. I don't think working out and improving/learning about fitness has to interfere with your career goals. How many hours do you work a week? Learning to improve your diet and making better food choices is not something that takes a lot of time. I just finished reading "The New Rules of Fitness" by Lou Schuler and Alwyn Cosgrove. It is an excellent book and I highly recommend you pick up a copy. The information is some of the latest and greatest of weight loss, muscle gain, and strength training.
