Welcome to FT. I have always found that a healthy lifestyle of eating right and working out has to come from within. You have to be self motivated. Sure you will find great advice and tips here, but you have to want it yourself. I am not trying to be negative, but if you are not self motivated then being consistent is going to be very difficult. This is a great resource for advice and support on how to achieve your goals, but you have to want it enough and be self motivated to achieve them. Good Luck

Once you start to feel a difference, it's addictive. Motivation... My biggest motivator came when my girlfriend said "Oh my god... I just notices how much more toned you are.". I was hanging a pot rack in the kitchen at the time.
Have fun

nat, although I agree with KA and srly, I have been on the non-motivational train wreck myself from time to time. No matter how good I feel, how many compliments, how well I am doing, sometimes I just want to sleep in and eat pizza and chips for a week. During those times I do two things. I post a photo of myself "pre-health" at 215 lbs and 3 chins on the fridge (THAT is some major motivation), and I hang my swimsuit or a cute summer outfit on the back of my bedroom door so the first thing I see in the morning is that item of clothing which reminds me of just ONE reason that I stay fit. Of course there are many reasons to be fit, and my look seems to be the least of my concerns, but it also seems to be the biggest motivitor when I'm lagging. Works for me anyway. Good luck.
