I've been training for a while now, but I'm just now really getting into it, I really enjoy working out compared to before when I only wanted results. Mi question is, how many times a week should I do cardio and how many times should I weight train? I have a nutrition program that I'm following, so I really want to be serious about it.Thanks, Marc

I think it would depend on your current fitness level. If you really want to get serious about training then you should realize that its a long term proposition. One mistake I see people make all the time is getting to serious to soon. They end up overtraining in no time and end up dropping out. Take it easy on the amount you train and slowly work up. Three sessions of weights and three of cardio if you are comfortable with it would give you great gains if you are a beginner. Try to do 20 min cario each session and increase the time by maybe 5 to 10 min each week untill you are doing about 45 min to an hour. Try to keep your weight sessions under 90 min. An hour is better but you may need to pace yourself untill you can do everything you need to do in an hour so 90 min is OK. Check out FT programs. Thy can hook you up with a good plan of attack. Good luck.

20 minutes of cardio 3 times a week is my plan but I am not trying to burn calories - if you are - more cardio will help. Weights 3 time a week is enough - I like 5 times a week but not for more than 1 hour at a time.

Depends on what your goal is. If you wanna get big then you REALLY HAVE TO CUT DOWN ON THE CARDIO AND TRAIN. No of days really depend on how your chart is made.....and your goals.....but in general you can train each bodypart twice a week.

I lift weights for five days a week and I do a cardio workout 2-3 times a week. My key is that by scheduling the event, I can't make up an excuse to get out of it. So make a schedule for yourself (or use FreeTrainers to do it) and then keep working it.
