I'm not sure that you can do that. Mass = weight.Muscle is heaver than fat so even if you lose some fat you will gain lbs. Unless you are very fat already. As you eat and train to add mass you will almost always gain a bit of fat too. Supplements are just tools which may help you some, but diet and training will get you where you want to be without them. You might want to get a diet and exercise program started on FT. Protein is fine but only part of the puzzle.

SO IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY ROUTINE NOW. BESIDE CHANGING MY EATING HABITS OF COURSE. I FOLLOW MY FT PROGRAM EVERYDAY AND TAKE MY PROTEIN SHAKES. THOSE TWO WILL NO DOUBT INCREASE MY MASS, BUT HOW DO I STAY CUT? IS THAT WHERE MY DIET COMES INTO PLAY?

Well if you're following the FT program, diet and training then you have a good guide. What option did you select? If your choice was the mass building program then you might expect to gain a little fat with the muscle but it's no big deal Shouldn't be much. Just increase your cardio and reduce your cal intake according to the weight loss and definition program on FT if you feel the need to after you finish your current program. I wouldn't worry to much about weight gain as long as it's the right kind (muscle) of weight.

I RUN 1.5 MILES 2 TIMES A WEEK, ON MY DAYS OF BREAK. THIS IS BASICALLY MY CARDIO IN MY PROGRAM. I AM DOING THE MASS GAIN AND 12 WK ABS. ALSO MY NUTRITION PROGRAM SAYS 3875 CALORIES, 108G FATS, 233G PROTEIN, 543 CARBOS A DAY. DOES MY CARDIO SOUND LIKE IT MEETS MY NEEDS? AND DOES MY NUTRITION PROGRAM SOUND SUFFICENT. SORRY IF THESE QUESTIONS SOUND STUPID, I HAVE NEVER GOT THIS DEEP INTO WEIGHT LIFTING. I REALLY APPR THE HELP.

I think the best thing you can do is sit back and wait for a couple of weeks! Then, if you see that you have put on some extra fat, increase the cardio a bit more. It's all about learning how your own body works! Experiment!! Good luck...

two cardio sessions might sound right for some people but I go for 3 a week. Try something else than just running..like cycling or swiming...if I get bored from these 2 I jump rope for a while instead. Variety is key here that's why some trainers advise their trainees to cross train rather than just do the same thing over and over again. Try martial arts...that's great to..it can get your entire body rockin' hard....especially if its tense enough...regarding protien intake..consume about 1 1/2 gm for every lb of body weight...

WORKING OUT TO GAIN MASS... IS IT BETTER THAT I USE WEIGHT SO THAT I CAN FINISH MY REPS, OR AM I SHOOTING FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO FINISH THAT 6TH REP?

lemonjuice79,

for a male individual to maintain their lean muscle mass, they must take in atleast 1 gram of protein per 1 pound of body weight. You are just getting that. In order to gain muscle size, you must increase your protein intake to 1.2 - 1.5 grams per bodyweight. So you are looking at186 to 233 grams of protein per day. This is simply a meal replacement or protien shake added into your day. Check out the ft nutrition program and make sure that your food sources are not high in fats. Use their goal program to get the exact values.. they seem to work!

Heavy! some say it's not necessary to train heavy in order to put on mass. Me personally, I think it's the best way to force your muscles to adapt by growing. Progressive resistance. Increase your intensity two fold by; a)Always adding weight when you can, even if it's only a little. If you are at failure by the 6 or 8th rep, then you have a good weight. If you can go to 12 reps and beyond it's to lite. b)decreasing time of rest periods. If you can go through you work with 45sec. or less rest after sets then look to see where you can add weight.

friend,
as far as I know...if you wanna get big, you have to gain weighrt too.
Creatine, is the perfect thing for your goals...try it out with a good workout and nutrition and youll see wonders.
But warn you, if your workout and nutrition is faulty then the creatine will not help.
