I'm going in to the Army in a few months time and I need to get back into shape before I go to boot. I am 18 years old and sitting at about 155ish lbs at 5'6. I need to be able to do 70 push-ups and 80 crunches in 2 minutes, also i need to be able to run 2 miles in just under 16 minutes. Any suggestions would be most helpful. I'd like to be under 140lbs. Thank you.
I've been in the Army (Cdn) for 20 yrs and believe me put your mind to it and you can do it. You just need to find what motivates you. I'm happy I have not had a smoke in 2 months. I might suggest some speed work and/or a more athletic approach to you goals rather than just weight training.
