Hi, I am a single mom of 3 boys. I need to get healthy. I have rarely exercised. I have been basically fit until I hit 33, never lost the weight after my last son. Now I get tired often, and I can feel the extra weight and unhealthy diet catching up with me. Please help. I need motivation, some ideas about working out at my apartments gym, and some healthy and creative food ideas for my whole family......Thanks and great luck to everyone here....

I can relate, I just had my son, Lennon, nine months ago. I realized while I was pregnant that I have spent my whole life complaining about wanting to be in shape and doing very little about it.
I think if you have the desire to shape up, you can do it. I don't know about you, but I like the challenge. I told myself: "You're almost thirty, losing weight is harder now than ever before...so do it!" and I did. I'm now in the best shape of my life.
The biggest key for me was getting my mind in gear with my body. Once the two are aligned, it all falls into place. Don't be afraid to push yourself, but don't push so hard that might push yourself away from your goals. Set small ones and keep increasing.
After my son, I spent about two months speed walking on the treadmill 3 nights a week-it was all I thought I could handle. Now, I do all sorts of cardio and resistance training.
