Hi there I am just starting this. I have decided to start with a beginner program general. I have always had a problem sticking to it. I don't have to lose much weight but I do need to tone up. My plan is to do the beginer program in general and then move on to building more mass. I don't know if that is a smart way to approach it or not?

That's going to depend on your body type. Can you tone up easily? If so, go for mass and when it comes time to tone, it should only take a short while to tone up all that new muscle. I am the typical ectomorph - high metabolism, naturally cut, etc. Therefore, mass is definatly my main concern. You can tone up while you are on a mass building program. Just be comfortable with whatever you do. Its ultimately your (and your body's) decision.
