Hi everyone! I'm completely new to the whole online help for weightloss. I have been struggling with my weight for a while now, and this freshman 15 (ahem....60) is really bothering me. I have access to a gym on campus, I just can't get motivated. I'm an emotional (and a bored) eater. I can use all the motivation that you all are willing to give me! I would like to drop this pesky 60 lbs hopefully before my birthday in August. I am willing to do whatever it takes. :)I am graduating Sping '09 and it MUST be gone by then...no one wants to watch a chubby newscaster!!! :) Thanks for taking the time to read my post! Have a good one!

If you have time to be a bored eater, then you have time to get to the gym. No one can keep you motivated except yourself.
Also, I find it difficult to believe you are "willing to do whatever it takes" when you can't get "motivated" enough to go to a gym you already have access to. Sorry if this sounds jaded, but IMO the sooner you face this the sooner you will be in control of your own life.

Thank you turbizmo for the support!! I am super busy, but I still seem to find time to eat bad things! haha I'm trying though...I started going to the gym this past week (every day!!! yay for me!!!) and I quit smoking (again, yay for me!!!) so I'm determined to be healthy. But, again, thank you for your support!!! :)

Hi Sigma. Good luck to you. Congrats on the smoking. I quit in January myself, it's not easy, but so worth it.
Stick to the gym, AND eat well. It's great to go to the gym every day (with rest days a couple days a week) but be sure to couple that with a healthy diet. I know that on campus you probably don't have access to stoves, ovens, grills, etc. But, you do have access to an outlet! With a hot plate, little george foreman grill and a microwave you can do wonders for your diet. And in a pinch, some turkey on whole grain bread is a nice alternative.
Good luck and stay in touch here.
