This may be more appropriate for the injury forum but I thought I'd start here.

I was squatting yesterday after taking 2 weeks off (grad school and 60 hour work weeks make getting to the gym difficult during finals week).

Anyway, my 1rm was somewhere around 300-315 before my 2 weeks off. I did my warmup, and worked up to 135x8, 185x6, 205x3, 225x3, 245x3 - My goal was to work up to a 3rm and was hoping for 265 or 275.

I was squatting lower than usual since the weight was lighter. As I squat down my right foot kept coming up on the side of my heel, not flat. That is probably just a flexibility problem, no biggie. As I would start back up I kept feeling what felt like a nerve tingling in my hamstring to my hip.

At the third rep of 245 I felt a pop, finished the rep and I called it quits. I finished up some a work and called it a day. Last thing I want is an injury.

So my question is two fold: one how do I increase my flexibility so I can squat lower with my feet flat, and does that sound like something to worry about or just suck it up and deal with it.

I've never felt that before and with less than 80% of my 1rm wasn't sure how to handle it.

I am not sure exactly how your foot came up. Were you on the outside of your foot because that not really bad. If your heel left the floor than it is bad. You should never be squatting with the weight on your toes. Just don't go that low.Where was the pop...hamstring or hip. If it was in your hamstring then you probable just pulled it a little. Not a big deal...just lay off it for a bit and make sure you stretch it a lot. If it was in your hips then I don't know.

Sorry, wasn't really clear. I was on the inside of my heel rather than it flat on the ground.
