I just finished my first week of weight training. This is a very hard program, but I feel powerful for getting through it. I'm wondering if I should be so sore? I worked my biceps and abs on Monday, my abs were sore til Wed and my biceps until Friday. By sore, I mean it hurt when someone touched or bumped my bicep! My triceps were sore for four days as well. I've never worked my arms before, so I'm hoping this is just my body getting used to it. Do you guys think this is normal, or am I working out too hard?

You might have worked your muscles a little hard for the first week. You will lose the soreness after a few weeks. I've been lifting for 4 months and don't have the soreness anymore. Creatine helps that too. Don't let the soreness make you give up!!

As you advance you will notice that it will take much more effort to get sore. As beginner or just returning to bodybuilding that is completely normal. Don't let this stop you.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement. I have now finished week 2 and am feeling great. The workouts still seem pretty intense, but the soreness isn't nearly as bad. My body seems to be recovering in a day or so. But I sure am needing my sleep these days!

i think it was a very hard time to me when i was finished my first week. The first day at the gym, i was very confident about lifting heavy weights, but at the next day, my confident was an open secret that a new comer can feel better at his bed when he finished his first day workouts. But i am not going to lose, i keep this in mind that you have to work hard with your body then you will gain the positive result. So i get it. Now i have a good body muscels and i can leave my clothes at gym while doing exercise. Make it hard. Bye
