I am scheduled to rest on Wed. and Sun. but the it fits much better in my schedule to take off Sat. and Sun. Is this going to be a problem?

Tigerman, the only problem with this is that you're not giving your body rest in between the days. For example, if your program has legs on Mondays, shoulders on Tuesdays and back on Thursdays, you'll need to rest Wednesday as the affected muscle group on Tuesdays and Thursdays are going to be the same...meaning, your arms will be doing some of the work and they'll get some benefit of the workout. However, without the rest in between, you'll be overtraining them.
Hope this helps to explain the staggered rest days.

the day in the middle gives your body the rest it demands. its very important to get that rest. ur body doesnt grow when ur lifting, only when it gets to repair itself, and thats during rest, specifically sleep. by not giving ur body that, ur body will not be able to recover, and therefore you will not make any progress.

No, just substitute your saturday workout for your wednesday workout.

Oh, don't be so negative!! lol If this poor guy cannot work out Saturday, then of course he can do it Wednesday. It's better than nothing!!! (and then he'll get two rest days after each other in the end...) Actually the very best thing Tiger, is to change your work out to four days.... mon-tue-thirs-fri Eh voila!!!! just ask the French! lol

So much advice..now to deciper it! As Arnold says ...give us your split so he can help. For all posts above... Isn't it the bodypart worked that needs to rest? Not the whole body, you can workout with out rest days in between and still grow muscle!!! Its working the same muscle groups the next day that causes overtraining. Thats why the splits is more important.
