I heard that pop kinda destroys the muscles because of the Carbonation. I stay away from anything that is Carbonated. dont know if this is true but i dont drink it incase it does.

I don't know about the carbonation thing, but caffeine will hinder your muscle production. For one, it's a fat burner, and if you don't have the fat to burn, it will go after your muscles. For two, it's a diuretic, and without water, your muscles will not grow as efficiently. I'd say it's okay to drink a soda occasionally, but I wouldn't make it an everyday thing.

I question the comment caffine burns muscle in the absence of fat? That one I have to say is not true. Caffine actually is recommended for athletic performance and is a banded substance at the Olympics for that reason. Carbonated drinks hinder vitamin/mineral absorbtion so that isn't good. Caffine is a directic so you drink extra water. But the sugar is the biggest culprit..best to say good bye to Soda/POP.

Okay, perhaps I'm wrong, but it is a fat burner, so I wonder what it would do if there were no fat to burn? It boosts your metabolism, and that has to burn something somewhere doesn't it?

Think of this as well...soda has a very high sugar content. The sugar spikes your insulin production. As the caffeine increases your heart rate, I'd say the body begins to use the added sugar as a temporary fuel source. Whatever is left over (unburned) becomes a store of fat.
Caffeine alone cannot sustain a high metabolism. You do that by working out and obtaining more muscle.

Carbonated drinks don't destroy muscle it effects absorbtion of vitamins/minerals.

Bulldogs, if you're asking if its OK to drink soda during your workout, I say absolutely not. Drink water before, during, and after your workout. While you excercise, you don't want to spike your insulin because it will actually hinder your performance. No soda, sports drinks, or food with carbs during your workout.
I just 'celebrated' my one year anniversary from the last time I drank a soda. January 31st was one year. I used to be a Mt. Dew freak; it was my coffee in the morning and pick-me-up in the afternoon. After 2 a day for a few months, I noticed some increased storage areas around my waistline. That's when I made the commitment to stop drinking any and all soda.

I used to drink soda a lot also...during lunch and another in the late afternoon. However, I felt rather "heavy" afterwards and a little "wired" during the afternoon.
An occasional one doesn't hurt as long as you don't drink it before, during and immediately after your workout. Listen to the good advice already provided here by the others and you'll be fine!
Good luck!
