My Gold's Gym jump rope suddenly broke in half the other day and it left me pretty desperate; I love jumping! The store didn't have any more jump ropes (actually they did have some made out of cotton ropes -Have you ever tried to jump with a cotton rope?!! :surprised: ) so I ordered one from the net. It took a bit more than a week to arrive.
I jump rope for 30-35 min straight 2-3 times a week. It's an easy exercise, doesn't need much equipment or space and my fitness level has gone all the way up through the roof. It's also a brilliant bum and leg work out (and even my wrists have become stronger :) ).
Start out with just one minute, then 2, then 5 and slowly build your way up to 10-15 min. Do that once or twice a week.
