Welcome to ft.. you've come to the right place!
yes.. weight training combined with a sound diet will help you gain weight. It will take hard work and dedication.. but you'll be rewarded with results.
Select a mass building program (not the 12 week mass until you have made some gains). And complete your nutritional program as well to get your daily requirements.
The key is to train heavy and basic.. no cardio! Eat.. eat.. eat.. and then eat again! Increase your calories significantly (ft will calculate that for you).
I'm sure that you'll get more advice from the community.. but my advice should be the foundation of your program.

Welcome to ft! Listen to Arnold...eat plenty of food and incorporate a good exercise program. If you haven't already, you should sign up for an ft mass program. They really work!
Good luck!

No big cardio program for you, but eat a lot and this 6-7 times a day (if you cannot eat that much then go out and buy a good weight gainer). Take heavy and not too many reps.
Don't worry, everybody can change if they have the motivation for it.
Good luck!
