Hey yall,
I wanted to share my workout routine and see if anyone had any suggestions, or words of encouragement for me. I've been doing this routine for about 3 months now, and I feel great and I'm definitely seeing results. The only thing is that I don't have my six pack yet. That could be another post. Anyways, here it is:
Mondays, Wednesday and (most often)Fridays:
(in this order)
50 push ups
20 chair dips
1.5 mile jog/walk
50 push ups
1/2 flight of stairs
20 chair dips
1/2 flight of stairs
1.5 mile jog/walk
20 chair dips
50 push ups
Tuesdays and Thursdays
4 sets of 20 chest press (50 lbs free weights on each hand)
4 sets of 10 rows (50 lbs)
4 sets of 20 shoulder shrugs (50 lbs)
2 sets of 50 side crunches (for each side = 4 sets)
So this is what I do. And I've been pretty consistent with it for about 3 months (I think it's going on 4). Anyways, like I said I feel and look great, but I'm just wondering if there's anything more I can do.

Your diet is what will most determine whether or not you get a six pack. You can do all of the conditioning you want, but if you don't control the volume and types of calories you take in, you probably won't be satisfied with the results.

Thanks...I've actually been on the South Beach Living for over a year. That's what helped me lose a lot of weight. I might need more calories, huh? I'm still eating pretty consciously, meaning I try not to do too many carbs and when I do eat them, I try to make sure they're whole wheat. Oh yeah and tortillas. I eat them without guilt. I figure they're better than a big mac.

Yup, it depends on what you're going to do. If you want to keep losing weight, cut the calories. If you want to gain more muscle, keep the calories up...to a certain extent. Tortillas will add up, just check out the nutrition facts on them.

Typical flour tortillas are loaded with empty/simple carbs(three or four tortillas have just as many calories as a Big Mac and a lot less protein). They're probably one of the worst things to eat "without conscious". Do yourself a big favor and switch off to some whole wheat tortillas. Also, if you want a better indicator for the amount of calories to be taking in, just google "BMR calculator". I've never done the south beach diet, but have cut large amounts of weight just by using the BMR as a guide line, and cutting out most of my simple carbs.

Thanks yall! Another thing is that with my schedule. I've been having to eat pretty late. I get out of class around 8:30pm. I get home and settled by around 9:00pm, so by the time I cook and eat something it's like 10:00pm.
For sure on the whole wheat tortillas. I use those at home. The best thing I've cooked in while was whole wheat quesadilla turkey burgers. Those were hella GRUB!!!

I don't get home from class until about 10pm 3 nights a week so I feel you pain. I eat lunch around noon, and then a decent sized meal before class (which is usually around 4 or 430). At the break (730-8) I have a protein shake and some walnuts or peanuts. I get home around 10 and have a small meal, usually chicken or turkey and some vegetables. I personally don't like to load up on carbs before I hit the sack at about 1130.
Basically, try to eat more before that and eat a smaller meal when you get home.

That's great advice ecle5c! Thanks. It's good to hear that I'm not the only one with a jam packed schedule. The only thing that I think might be a barrier in your idea is my budget. I'm not sure I can afford to eat that many times a day.
