I just started this program on monday, and can do all the other exercizes ok, but I have trouble doing all the dips. it tells me to do. I'm s'possed to do like 15, 15, 12, then 10 of them, and the first time i did them i think i did 7, 5, 5, 2 . It was a struggle to even do THAT, I did better second time: 10, 15, 12, 10, but I almost collapsed each time i did them.... oh well, I guess I'll get better as I go along, also, are you supposed to HURT this much when starting out? During the exercizes, i was ok, but once I sat and rested, My WHOLE body was REALLY sore, as in touch it and it ached. It's not nearly as bad today. I'm sure It'll get easier to do them as i go along, but, was curious about how hard they were for you all when you started out. Sorry 4 the long post. ~~Beth~~

Beth, yes it is normol too get sore and find some exercises more difficult at first. If you are very sore add a rest day. You may need a little more recovery time. Its ok that you did less dips. We rarely use our triceps so the muscle is screaming! Do what you can. Keep it up, you will be glad you did. Think about what happens too that tricep muscle when you are old if you don't do those dips!

I had major problems when I did them at first. Now I'm better at them and I can do them without collapsing. Doing circuit training also helps for not running out of gas.

I think my first time I did three. :) What may be helpful is if you have a dip-assist machine. These can be big machines( I think they're called gravitrons) or small tricep extension machines. You can work on them until you get stronger, or, you can tough it out, and eventually you'll get there.

Bench dips are my favorite for the triceps. I usually do 4 sets of 12-15. My arms are almost useless when I finish but I love that pumped feeling! And I've only just begun to train.

You can also increase the intensity of this exercise by either adding weights to your ankles or by pausing at the bottom for about 2 seconds.
Train hard!
