Not sure where to start first

Okay so I have a mix of goals.

1.) Get my weight down - 185-190lbs
2.) Tone up / build muscle

So my real question comes down to where to start first? Do I just go trying to build muscle with the expectation that I will start to lean out from that?

Or do I cut the weight then work on building muscle? I'm not trying to be body builder like I just want to get evened out / looking good.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Pick one thing at a time. By that I mean decide to either cut it off (fat ) or go for mass. I think hardest thing to do is not go crazy and do everything at once, BUT do start a exercise plan!

I think that you'll be happier if you trim down first. Most people are visual folks and if you don't "look" better than you may not stick to it.

That being said, the main difference will be what/how you eat not so much what you do.
