Hi, I am a 43 yo male that needs to loose weight and get generally fit. I am 270 lbs at 5' 9.5" and almost all my weight is in my stomach. No i don't drink beer but it sure looks like a beer belly. There is a Snap Fitness around the corner from me and they use Cybex Machines. I need to try and loose inches and tone my abs by May of 2009 to be able to pass my ANG fitness test. My last test I only passed by 2 points and they don't count that as passing (don't ask). Any help would be appreciated.

Take a hard, honest look at your diet.Your gonna have to realy clean it up and become portion conscious. The only way to lose weight is to create a deficit in your daily caloric needs through DIET and exercise. Do a google search for "base metabolic rate" and you should get any one of many useful calculators. You're looking to create a calorie deficit of 500-700 calories a day for decent weight loss.
