I'm 45 years old, have been trying to lose weight on my own for a year and its just not happening. I'm looking for help, support, etc.

My goal is to hit the gym at least 3 times a week, 30 minutes of cardio, then some strength training and then another 30 minutes of cardio. Unfortunately, I can't begin a diet until a week from now (family issues and I can't issue ultimatums to the family when I'm staying with them).

I usually do low carb, both because I have had good results with it in the past and because I have a family history of diabetes. Its the one diet that really keeps my blood sugars under control.

Welcome to ft1 Thats a lot of cardio to begin with...ease into it and you won't burn out as quickly.
