Next week is deload week then I switch things up and dips will become close grip bench.
Last time doing these I was doing 185x5x3 and I was thinking of doing then with boards this time but not for lockout but to overall hit tri's harder and get past that 185x5 stall.

I just finished a cycle of Board Presses so I was thinking of taking the boards to close grip for assistant tri work as I will either go to a combination of Floor Press and Flat Bench or just Flat Bench for the next 3 to 4 weeks.

Well my grip is said to be way to narrow.
I'm going to go shoulder width without boards and see where I stick with what amount of weight then I add boards once I know where I'm at with a wider Close Grip Bench.

============
Quoting from sean72:
I would say work out on the bench press in a way that focuses on your weakest point that way you improve your strength in that area and break through any plateaus you might have.
=============
The question at hand was not about bench it's about tricep strength and I alternate dip and close grips for this but may start adding skull crushers back in there also.

There's no reason to not give it a try....go ahead and see what happens...I have done this exercise with 1,2,3 boards and it was a change of pace...though if you limit the ROM, you should be loading additional weight on the bar, over the max u have on the full ROM board CGBP...
I would give weighted dips a try as well...

I do weighted dips but as I keep adding pound to my body the pounds on dips lower lol.
I was dipping with 70x5 pounds but gained weight and now I'm at 25x8.
Same with Pulls and chins gained weight they became harder.
