Hi, i'm a beginner to weightlifting. I was told that in order to build muscle successfully, i should avoid lifts targeting specific muscle groups until I get to a 'base' level of strength.
So i was wondering which lifts should i do as a beginner?

roxy, almost any lift is ok for beginners. The most important thing is to start with relatively light weights to prevent excessive soreness but mainly to get your form for each movement perfect. Study the pictures of each exercise and practice good form. You'll prevent injury and enhance your gains by doing so.
