Make sure you hold some 5-10 lb. weights when you are walking on the treadmill. It should help shed some extra pounds. But for your diet I can't really help ya out. I would just suggest watching your calorie intake and make sure you eat healthy. Celery is a good snack food because it burns more calories digesting it then it gives off to you body. So you lose weight while eating it.

When your ability for physical activities are impaired, proper diet becomes even more crucial to weight loss. Before I give you any advice, you need to see a doctor and find out just what you physically can and can not do in a gym, as well as his ideas for your diet.
My thought is that you need to take a very close look at what you are eating. A total non-BS assessment of how many calories you are taking in during the day. That means properly counting calories based off of the actual portion sizes.
Diet is the hardest part of fitness to control because there are so many mental and emotional connections to food. But none the less it must be done.
If you want to start losing appreciable amounts of weight, I'd say you need to cut down to around 2500 calories a day for starters. More importantly you need to get rid of the empty calories such as sugary snacks, chips, and regular soda. This may sound quite difficult, but I'm working with my cousin who's in the 450's right now and he's doing great. So you can do this too!
As far as foods go, you need to supplement meals with what I call "filler foods". Things like a big salad with low calorie dressing with meals, or a small baked potato(VERY light on the butter, a little salt/pepper, non-fat sour cream) work great to give you a full feeling and are relatively low in calories.
The best thing you can do to be successful is to put yourself in an environment that allows for success. Anything that is tempting or bad for you needs to be taken out of reach. Work lunches need to be packed, and a proper breakfast has to be top priority.
There are tons of good tips in the diet forum so look there for more info. There's everything from grocery lists, to specific weight loss diets in there that do work. And don't hesitate to ask questions here. We're all here to help.
