What can I expect from this routine? any significant muscle gain or more strength gain?I have a home gym which I can do bench press, shoulder press, lat pulldowns, flyes, leg curls, and leg extensions. I also have some dumbells. Maybe I should move up to a different FT routine and whatever I cant do, just alter it alittle bit? I dont know what to do!! Please can you guys help? I really would appreciate it. |

The home program uses a lot of push ups, crunches, can curls, and other excercises that would allow you to use things that you more than likely have at home already. It sounds to me like you have a nice little set up at home. You can easily substitute an excersise you can do for one you can't do that may be on your FT program. For example, since you have some dumb bells, you can substitue dumb bell squats or lunges, for regular squats. If you didn't have a lat machine you could do pull ups instead of lat pull downs. Be creative. -------------- MOVE! I'm working here! |

Instead of doing the home program, why not the 8-week mass program choosing only free weights? Your gains will be MORE significant!-------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

I thinking about it but the home gym only has flat bench press and when I signed up for the mass program, I seen incline and decline bench and I was trying to figure out what I could substitute for those. Would incline and decline push-ups work?============ Quoting from rpacheco: Instead of doing the home program, why not the 8-week mass program choosing only free weights? Well, I don't remember seeing declined bench, but I do recall a lot of inclined work. Yes, you can substitute with push ups...except you'll need to strap some weights on your back or something to add additional resistance. You may want to consider buying a plain old folding bench for about $25 (I've seen these on e-Bay) so that you can at least do some bench flyes (inclined and declined).-------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

LOL! Good luck and be careful, I tried to get by with the bare minimum equipment and that was about 300$ ago! But it's so nice to have good equipment. -------------- And my soul must be iron, because my fear is naked. I'm naked and fearless. |

jd158, i am on to my 5th week of the mass program and am seeing great results! I highly suggest following it. I went to Sams Wholesale Club and bought an olympic weight (300 lbs) set about 4 years ago for about 250.00. It came with the entire spotting cage for squats and benching, tricep press down, bench with leg curls ect....I used it for years before joining a gym. I had some freeweights from before so I was set. Thats basicly all you need.Good luck! BQ |

The home program targets a group of muscles. Where can I find exersizes that use a little more equipment. I have dumb bell weights , a stretch elastic, a large exersize ball, a long lonely road to run on, skip ropes, bowling balls, stairs to run up and down, a perfect-abs contraption, massage table, flat bench. Any Ideas would be helpfull-------------- Being older has the taste of Aged Scotch when it has been reduced to the essence over time well spent and keeps the smile on the younger ladies faces. you can specify in your program that you have free weights. The program will give you some exercises with barbells, but these are easily substituted. I think you can also specify that you have resistance bands and exercise balls too.
