Hey guys,
I was wondering what kind of Carbs I should take along with Whey after my workouts. Should these be complex or simple, how much should I take, etc. Thanks in advance,
Carlos.

First, welcome to FreeTrainers! Be sure to fill out your profile so we can better answer your questions.
After your workout, your carb-to-protein ratio should be around 2:1. I usually go above and beyond that because of my seemingly never-ending quest for mass. Mix your carbs after your workout. Simple carbs (like glucose and/or ribose) should be taken immediately after your workout. This will replenish the carbs you have just spent during your workout. This is also a good time to take your whey protein (and creatine, if you take it). Remember to eat solid food about 30 minutes after you conclude your workout. Your post-workout meal should consist of more complex carbs, like the ones found in potatoes or pastas, as well as some sort of lean meat or another good source of protein.

a number of university studies have shown a 2:1 carb:protein ratio for a post-workout meal. the carbs should be a blend of complex and simple.
the best "blends" of the above is all dependent on you, your body type, and your training intensity. because of that, the blends are something that you'll just have calculate on your own.

You know Cains, everything is about nutrition...... Well, yes of course you can get some gains in the gym just working out like crazy and then forget about your diet, but when you get on a higher level and you really want to build up a great body for whatever personal reason, then everything comes back to the diet......... The diet decides if you are going to gain more muscles, fat, recover fast etc etc
This takes up your time and energy (always eating, cooking or counting calories) but the results are there and we know it. We just have to do it.

Trust me I know. I am working really hard on my diet, but since this is my first mass program it's taken a minute. I almost have it down though.
