I've noticed and cant help but find out why that new members are trying to introduce themselves and quite a few are asking for help and they cant get any responses, from anyone. It seems that if they cant get the help or encouragement they need they might go elsewhere. I think we all need to stick together and make it a point to help eachother. It feels so good when just a few people say hi and you actually feel like you have support, which might I add is what alot of us need. Just a few encouraging words can give someone drive, and without it, can break someones will. Lets help eachother, we are all here for the same reason...............GET HEALTHY :)

While I love to help new people on this site, I've got to say that 90% of the questions can be answered within a few minutes of reading other posts with similar inquiries. I can see why some more experienced members end up feeling like broken records, and skipping a few posts here and there.
BUT, I do think we can all make a better effort to say "hi back" or "good luck" and that definitely includes myself.

Hmm.. not really sure if this site is going to work for me. I've been tracking what I eat, eating probably too few calories..which is why I think I can't get below 173 now...truly want to be healthy because I lost my dad 7 months ago to a heart attack and I don't want to go down the path he did..he was only 54! I'm 33..female..getting married in a few months and would like to look pretty in my wedding dress but my main goal is to do this right...to actually learn how to eat healthy. Any ideas where I can find low sodium, low calorie recipes that won't break my already broken budget??? Thanks in advance for your help!:big_smile:

The key is not expensive low sodium no carb diets. The key is that you can eat what ever you want as long as you read the lable and make sure it has at least 10 grams of protien. And you will find that the sodium problem will slowly disappear. Good luck and remember It only take a few minutes to get healthy but it takes a lifetime if you don't.

How many calories are you eating? Depending on how active you are, I'd suggest eating around 1800 a day based on your body weight. Depending on how much exercise you get and how active you are you may need to eat a little more than that.

Please don't take this as an insult, but going by what you wrote this gal isn't going to lose any weight. Weight loss is based on achieving a reasonable caloric deficit at the end of the day. Eating what you want as long as it has 10 grams of protein in it is actually a perfect recipe for weight gain. It's all about calorie management at the end of the day.
