Does anyone here use weight lifting machines? I noticed one fairly affordable at walmart that uses compressed air to control resistance. Its the weider 265 weight lifting system. Any thoughts? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=1626872&cat=49040&type=21&dept=4125&path=0%3A4125%3A4134%3A49040

Well besides seeing you post the longest link ever......LOL....you should get a free weights set instead. I picked mine up at Sams Wholesale Club. It is a 300 lbs Olympic Weight Set by Weider. It cost me about 200.00 and was the best money I have spent. It has the entire cage so you can do squats, pull ups, spotter for benching, and also tricep press, lat pull downs...blah blah...well you get the idea. FREE WEIGHTS is the way to go! Good Luck Check out a Play it Again Sports or something too.

Remember when you find a gym its all about location (distance from your work or your house) it must be convient. My gym is right down the street, and lucky for me my girlfriend bought me my membership. If not I would still be lifting here at the house, which I enjoy doing anyway.

I don't have any experience with this particular machine but, as far as machines in that price range go, they tend to have a very limited range of motion. Especially if your a taller person, like my self, you might be disappointed with your purchase. I recommend getting a GOOD flat bench, inclined bench, and set of dumbells. That should be in the same price range.

Question one: Cain, why do you dread joining a gym? As for machines systems, I have used a few raning from bowflex types to rubberband types I have found that nothing gives me a pump like free weightss.
